Is musical ability a sign of intelligence (or lack-of)?

academic achievement can easily be "achieved" by working hard and studying the gifted people actually have a high memory and can retain certain things untill its not needed... my Physics Teacher told me once that school isn't about what you know its about how fast you can remember topics so i believe it really only helps with memorizing things
