Is there anyway to install a trendnet TEW router with wireless settings?

I have a very long house and the internet signal seldom reaches any corner of the opposite side. I recently bought a trendnet TEW-430 APB repeater to amplify the frequency so it can reach said sections. However, I have a wireless router and a Windows vista system as the main computer, the instruction manual indicates a specific default IP to complete its instalation, and it doesn't seem work. I'm a little lost, since I have configured some programs' (like emule.) TDP and I've been wondering a way of configuring it without altering their flow.
