Any advice for what to buy for a middle school science lab?

I recently received a new job and was asked to compile a list of supplies I would need for a middle school science lab. I know to include the essentials, like microscopes and scales and such, but I need help with the gritty details. For example, what chemicals should I have in stock? What other chemistry items should I buy? I would appreciate any help from a fellow science teacher or someone of that caliber. ANY help would be appreciated.
