Is believing in a god equivalent to believing that ones underpants are bullet proof?

Sooner or later logic kicks in and the person who believes their underpants will protect them from projectiles, will take shelter behind something solid. So this makes me think that logic and reason act like a stopper for a person’s faith. You know, if it wasn’t for logic and reason, faith would just spiral out of control. Do you think this is how it is?
