Air Force Basic training...I need info please?

I looked into this before. months ago. the only real reason is that when my dad went through lackland back and graduated in april of '73. The only reason since we are in a time of war, and we need to be in a sate of preparedness, the department of the air force made it 2 weeks longer to deal with terrorism/counter terrorism education and tactics. VBIEDs, IEDs, etc.
